In Japanese, machi means town, community, neighborhood — the place where we live our daily lives. In yoga, prana refers to the vital energy that flows through our bodies and our minds. Machi Prana hopes to offer inspiration that small changes in our daily lives, through easily-achievable exercises, healthy eating and emotional regulation, can lead us toward better health.
Hi 👋🏻 My name is Joey and I am a Canadian who's been living in Tokyo for over two decades. Like many of you, I live a busy city life - always juggling a thousand things and often pulled by the temptations of bad habits and everyday stress. On the flip side, I am also a yoga teacher deeply committed to a consistent pattern of daily exercise, calming the mind, and a whole-food, plant-based diet.
Many of us with commitments in life would often say that it is hard to find time to stay healthy. No doubt about that. In this homepage, I share simple, practical tips - through my own experiences - on how you can incorporate small changes into your daily routine to pursue a healthier life.
If you are a yogi, I hope you will find new perspectives and tips that will help you deepen your practice.
I hope this homepage serves as a space to inspire and support your wellness journey. The best way to stay connected is through my email updates, so if that feels right for you, click below to subscribe.
